1 in 8 West Michigan adults struggle with low literacy. Rick and Loy Adamy have been working with the Literacy Center of West Michigan to change that fact. They share the Literacy Center’s goal of one day making West Michigan the region with the highest literacy levels in the nation. Rick and Loy have served the Literacy Center in different ways; Rick through serving on the board during a critical time, and Loy through her tutoring efforts. On May 11 their accomplishments will be recognized with the Champion of Literacy Award at the Literacy Center’s signature event Spellebration at the Grand Rapids Masonic Center.
